Family trip with two small kids

We wanted something relaxed with children aged five and eight, and they adjusted the whole itinerary to shorter game drives with breaks. The guide was wonderful with the kids and even arranged a birthday cake in the lodge. As a local family we were treated exactly like everyone else.

Boat safari in Nyerere was the highlight

Everyone does Serengeti, but the Rufiji river at Nyerere was our favourite part — hippos everywhere and almost no other vehicles. Knowledgeable guide, fair price for a private vehicle, and honest advice about the rainy season when we asked.
